The 33 Story of the Heart - How it came to be!
In the vibrant Lakewood community, nestled beside a shimmering lake, kindness and compassion were more than values—they were a way of life for Mackenzie Forrest, a standout athlete who wore the number 33. Mackenzie was beloved for her selfless acts and her unwavering belief in the power of faith and kindness. Tragically, Mackenzie’s life was cut short by an accident, leaving the community grieving but determined to honor her legacy.
“Kindness is like a ripple on the lake. One act creates waves that reach farther than we can see.” These words encapsulate our goal of kindness in the community and to keep her memory alive.
With the determination and heart that Mackenzie embodied, the number 33, paired with a heart, was chosen as a symbol to represent everything she stood for. Inspired by this, Kindness Matters 33 and the Forrest family created the initiative “Hearts of Kindness and Compassion.” This cherished symbol became a reminder to live with kindness and compassion every day, just as Mackenzie did.
Today, the 33 Heart Logo is more than an emblem; it is a symbol of hope and humanity. Inspired by the memory of Mackenzie and all she lived for, it serves as a reminder that even in a bustling world, kindness can ripple endlessly, just like the waves on a tranquil lake.

Our Kindness Mission
The Hustle and Heart 33 (Now Kindness Matters 33) organization is devoted to honoring and advancing the legacy of Mackenzie Forrest by sharing her story and inspiring others to adopt her values of Hustle (passion) and Heart (compassion). These core principles represent a way of life that sets individuals apart and drives them to live with purpose and integrity.
Our mission is to raise funds and resources to help students, schools, and communities internalize and practice Hustle and Heart. Through education, outreach, and tangible support, we aim to foster a culture where passion fuels hard work, and compassion builds stronger connections.
We are committed to developing tools and strategies to measure the influence of Hustle and Heart (Now Kindness Matters 33), both on an individual level and within communities. By expanding awareness and encouraging others to live by these values, we seek to create a lasting impact that enriches lives and contributes to a more empathetic and driven society.
We have now combined the legacy of Hustle and Heart into Kindness Matters 33, symbolizing the original goal of Hustle and Heart and the number 33. This is all from the story of Mackenzie Forrest and her beliefs.
